Ioannina
of today is a big cultural and administrative
centre, a lively modern city vibrant of life and
movement but at the same time a city that
reflects its important and turbulent history. The
visitor can admire the modern streets, the spaces
of refreshment, the historical monuments, the
countless groves and parks, the hotels, the new
modern buildings, but also the splendidly old
mansions that bridge yesterday with today in
a harmonious way.

observe the different forms of architecture that were
shaped in each era and draw conclusions regarding the

Lake
Pamvotis is what mainly characterizes
Ioannina and gives its own stigma in the city.

your food in the restaurants and the
cafeterias of the street by the lake.

from the central square of Ioannina,
you can take your walk towards Dodoni
street, where you will meet the Juridical
Palace, the Prefecture and other modern
buildings and shops. You can also go
towards the historical Castle of Ioannina
and walk on the alleys of the old city,
where on each step you take you
will find the steps of history.

Ioannina
is one of the biggest centres of Northern
Greece. It has a University, two hospitals (the
University and the Hatzikosta hospital), theatres,
galleries, many cultural institutions and all that
one can seek in a modern city.
