Bridge
of Plaka
It is the biggest one-stringer bridge of
the Balkans.
The height of its main arch (since it also has two
false arches) is 20 meters, its length is 40 meters
and its width in the highest point of its arc reaches
3.20 meters. It is found on the way after Kalentzi
and it was built in 1866 by Kostas Bekas. The
conditions under which it was built were particularly
episodic because of the ugly weather. The only
consequence however was a light divergence in the
bridge. Apart from its aesthetic value, the bridge
is also known for its big historical value. It
constituted a border between free Greece and the
parts that were occupied by the Turks. Moreover,
the known "Settlement of Plaka"
between the
organizations ELAS and EDES was signed on
its arch during the civilian war.

Bridge
of Gogos
This beautiful bridge is found in the beginning of
River Kalaritikos's ravine on the path of Mihalitsi
in Pramanta. It is a pendent metal bridge that
was designed by the German mechanic Charles
Vaykman in 1932. This point has been selected
as one of the most suitable points of departure
for the lovers of rafting, kayak and other relative
activities. It is worth admiring!!

Bridge
of Papastathis
It is found on the height of the village Anatoliki
in the beginning of River Arachthos's ravine.
It
is
a very beautiful four-stringer bridge of
the few that exist in Epirus as most bridges
are one-stringer. In old times it served the
residents
of Sirako, Kalarites and other villages
in their transportation
and their communication
with
the
city of Ioannina. Unfortunately, the
impetuous
flow of Arachthos has destroyed part
of
this historical
bridge as a result of which,
it
is not feasible
to cross the river.

Bridge of Politsa
This
one-stringer bridge is found in the
southern part of the unique Ravine of
Arachthos and it bridges the homonymous
river. It took its name from the fact that
it served the villages of Tzoumerka in their
transportation and communication with the
city of Ioannina in old times. It
is supported
on a solid rock a few meters higher than
the river and it impresses, as it stands
proud in the rich natural beauty.
You will be thrilled!!
